A little assignment which was meant for SXEP2108. In this entry, I shall show some of the examples on how technology can be used in learning one science concept called "Carbon Cycle".
Usually, teachers will explain about science concepts such as Carbon Cycle via usual learning (from textbooks, whiteboards or other proper teaching methods). This method of teaching may have some limitations:
In order to make students to be more understanding, teacher can use technologies in the classroom such as videos, the internet and some interactive learning tools so that the teacher can grab students' attention and makes learning more interesting. Technologies that are suitable for carbon cycle is links about carbon cycle, videos, songs and interactive quiz.

Usually, teachers will explain about science concepts such as Carbon Cycle via usual learning (from textbooks, whiteboards or other proper teaching methods). This method of teaching may have some limitations:
- Students feel bored with traditional way of teaching
- The textbook may not have extra information

Examples of using technology for teaching students:
- Printing diagrams and figures regarding carbon cycle. Materials are freely available on the internet. The teacher can distribute figures and pictures in the class and activities can be made out of it such as asking students to label carbon cycle diagrams.
- Using compact disc softwares (which contains courseware about carbon cycle) and asks the students to do activities contained in the disc.
- Showing videos about carbon cycle to the students. Free videos can be downloaded from video sites
Basically, the carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere, pedosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere of the Earth. It is one of the most important cycles of the earth and allows for carbon to be recycled and reused throughout the biosphere and all of its organisms.
For better understanding of this delicate balance of maintaining proper carbon amount, some links may help:

As a personal remark, I think specific free blog hosts allow for embedding videos and codes on the blog itself. For example, i'm using Blogger, which allows for codes to be inserted in blog posts and widgets. This makes people to see materials easier than using some blog hosts which don't allow codings to be inserted due to security purposes (example: Wordpress)
