Lesson on Friday, 8th October 2010

One of my group member (Miss Jie), presenting about videos.

I was presenting for that day. The title is "Information Retrieval from the Internet, WWW, CD and Video to Enhance Understanding of Science Concepts"

I covered the part regarding Compact Discs (CD). This ubiquitous optical media has been used for a long time now (almost 20 years). Although it's slowly being replaced by DVDs or the internet, this media have the advantage of being low in cost and can be used in schools where internet access is not readily available.

Other that that, it is powerful and simple to use, as all of coursewares can be run on the CD by itself and do not have to do additional installation or registration. Almost all science textbooks today have supplemented CDs so that students can do interesting activities to strengthen  their understanding of science concepts and help to increase their memory.
